Medieval Week

Kapitelhusgården is one of the most visited places during Medieval Week – Europe’s largest medieval festival.

• The garden opens at 12:00 every day, with market and grill.
• In the mornings we hold courses, and during the day lectures and performances.
• The restaurant opens at 17:00.
• Book a table by email at bokabord@kapitelhusgarden.se. Booking for Medieval Week 2027 opens in June 2027.
• During the week you can also book in person with the maître d’ from 16:30 every day – for the same evening or later in the week.
• In the evening there are two concerts every night.
• No smoking anywhere in the garden during Medieval Week.

Market, courses and lectures

As a contrast to the big market down at Strandgärdet, Kapitelhusgården offers a more intimate setting beside our stage and our daily food from the hearth. Here you will find quality crafts, courses and lectures. The sound of the smithy mingles with flutes, and you can see everything from coin striking to textiles, ceramics, leatherwork and jewellery.

Entry to the market is free – no festival wristband needed.

Music and show

No evening at Kapitelhusgården is complete without music. We have concerts both outdoors and indoors, and sometimes storytellers, jesters, dancers and magicians.

From 19:00 we charge 50 SEK entry to pay our artists. Free for children aged 0–15, Medieval Week volunteers and guests who have booked a table. A week pass costs 275 SEK. The Medieval Week festival wristband is not valid as evening entry here.
